i feel very good, will!

We decided to take a little break from the office, and tackle another project that I've been wanting to do for yeeeears now!

When we moved from our old house into this house, I put all our barely used clothes into moving boxes.  Those boxes ended up finding a home in the basement...never to be opened again.  Then as the kids started to outgrow their clothes {as kids often do}, more boxes of old clothes started piling on top of THOSE boxes, and so on and so on, until our laundry room became a giant MOUNTAIN of un-used clothes.

Well, we've finally done something about Mt. Old Clothes!!  I sorted through the boxes and boxes of clothes.  Kept the things that were good and fit us, threw away the gross un-donateables, and put everything that was good into bags and boxes.  Then loaded everything into the van...

And headed over to our local Goodwill for donation!

And for anyone who's never donated to Goodwill before, it really only takes a couple minutes!  All you have to do is drive up to the donations door, get out of your car, and hand them your donation!  They'll give you a donation receipt, {for tax purposes, so you can claim it as a deduction}, and that's it!  It was SO quick and easy!!  The whole thing took less than 5 minutes!

Plus, I have to say, it feels pretty damn good to donate!!  It's a total WIN-WIN scenario!  I get to clean out my laundry room, claim it on my taxes, and as an added bonus: I feel awesome knowing that I'm helping Goodwill help people in need earn a living and improve their lives!

This whole entire project of turning our house into a "grown-up home" is about so much more than just decorating, my goal is also to improve myself as I improve my house!  I think taking the time and effort to donate to a charity is a great start at self-improvement!!

XOXO,
Marcia
