my husband and i are not designers, in fact every place we've ever owned or lived in has looked more like a dorm room, and less like a home. well, after 5 years of living in our little blue house, i've finally decided that it's time to grow up, and create my dream grown-up home. it's also time to correct 5 years of wear and tear that only 2 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat could make!
since i was pregnant when we bought the house, i didn't do any decorating in the beginning. we moved in the house right before christmas, and since then we've practically lived it in as it was when we bought it. we painted a couple rooms, bought some furniture, rearranged things here and there, but definitely no major decorating to make it our own {hence the "dorm room" reference}.
getting to the point...we've actually started this process! i actually have plans in my head! and i actually have visions of what my house could look like with a lot of sweat, a WHOLE lotta work, and a buck or two.
we've decided to start from the bottom up...literally! since, our little blue house, is actually a little blue ranch home, with a fully exposed walk-out basement.
having said that, may i introduce the first room on my docket:
the office!
here is a {really bad} BEFORE shot of the office. {fyi: the reason the picture looks so bad is that it's actually a screen shot from a video i took of the whole house before we bought it.}
