Oh yeeeeeah, I'm so excited to watch these seedlings get bigger, and get them in the ground! And we've just about everything! We've got butternut squash, 3 types of tomatoes, 2 types of zucchini, yellow summer squash, broccoli, iceburg and loose leaf lettuce, spinach, sweet and hot peppers, onions, scallions, sugar snap peas, green beans, cantaloupe, watermelon, pumpkin, honeydew, brussel sprouts, corn, beets, basil, oregano, rosemary, carrots, and eggplant. And we're also going to be planting some garlic, potatoes, asparagus and some other perennial fruits/veggies. But since those are perennials, we need the bulbs in order to plant them.
So, if you couldn't tell, we're going to be eating like {healthy} kings this summer!!
Also, I'd like to mention how much fun, and how economical it is to start your own seedlings, instead of purchasing young plants from a nursery. I'm using the Jiffy Greenhouse with 72 pellets. The instructions are very simple.
1) Saturate the pellets until they grow to about 1-2"
2) Plant your 2-3 seeds per pellet
3) Cover with the clear dome and put somewhere with partial sun.
4) When the plants start getting too big for the dome, take the dome off and put in full sunlight.
5) Water regularly and enjoy watching the plants grow bigger, and BIGGER, AND BIGGER!!
AHHHH, I CANNOT WAIT TO PLANT THESE IN THE GROUND!!! :) :) :)
XOXO,
Marcia
