all about nesting...

I am such a maniac when it comes to nesting while I'm pregnant. When Lucy was cooking, we purchased our first home, and I did quite a bit of painting and settling in. When Elliot was in the oven, I single-handedly put our house up for sale (by owner), then we sold it, bought a new house, moved into that new house, and hosted Christmas 2 weeks later.

This time around, my nesting plans our OUT OF CONTROL!!! And it's a bit overwhelming at times. Take a look at my summer TO DO list:

GARDEN:
Clear weeds and debris
Till
Plant
Weed/Water
Harvest

POOL:
Install new pool floor
Install new side coves
Install new liner

DOWNSTAIRS FAMILY ROOM:
Pull up carpet tacks
Paint trim
Paint walls
Install floors

PLAYROOM:
Rip up carpet
Pull up carpet tacks
Paint trim
Paint walls
Install floors

MASTER BEDROOM:
Paint walls
Design/Implement nursery area

MASTER BATHROOM:
Paint walls

KID'S BATHROOM:
Paint walls

LIVING/DINING ROOM:
Install window trim
Install new screen door

My wrist is cramping just from TYPING that list! And as you can see, much of what needs to be done is painting and elbow grease. I've already started in the downstairs family room. In fact, I'm about to go paint the trim after I'm finished with this blog post. Then, if the weather cooperates, I'll be in the garden all day clearing all the weeds and debris, so that it'll be ready for all of our seedlings.

(aren't they looking so grown-up? :)

As you can see, a lot of the plants have outgrown their initial pellets. So, I headed back to the store, and picked up some bigger Jiffy plantable pots, then had to be creative and find some cookie sheets to keep them on, otherwise it would be a GIANT mess! I definitely think I started the seedlings a little too early, because these plants are going to be growing FRUIT before it's warm enough to plant them! Then again, maybe that's a good thing...earlier harvest this summer!

XOXO,
Marcia
